Michal Jordán
Michal Jordán graduated from Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication as well as from Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering.
His practical IP experience started in 2007 while working for a successful medical device manufacturer, Linet, at first as an electronic designer and later as an innovation and IP manager. He has acquired international experience in the field of IP protection, management of R&D projects and evaluation of innovative ideas in terms of their market potential. This experience has made him aware of the importance of protecting intellectual property where it is crucial for the owner.
Michal established his own IP practice in 2014 and started building a team of IP professionals with the aim to improve the quality of IP services in the CzechRepublic.
Michal and his team focus on technical inventions and patent prosecution. They are also well recognised for their cooperation with R&D teams and searches for third-party IP rights and associated freedom-to-operate expert opinions.
Michal’s professional activities include lectures in the field of intellectual property at various conferences and seminars. His experience in this area includes trainings at the Czech IP office, seminars for universities, various departments of the Czech Academy of Sciences and JIC (the South Moravian Innovation Centre), where he also coaches technological firms in the IP area. Mr. Jordán is also experienced in corporate IP audits and in assisting companies in establishing proper internal rules.
Michal Jordán is a recommended expert in IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
As a patent attorney, he is entitled to represent clients and act in all matters and procedures relating to patents, utility models, industrial designs or trademarks before the Czech IPO, European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO).
